New UAE fuel prices for August 2025: Diesel up, petrol slightly down
The Emirates among top 25 nations with lowest global petrol prices
DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced fuel prices for August 2025.
Following a minor rise in July, August rates show a marginal drop in petrol prices, but a notable increase in diesel. These revised rates, aligned with global benchmarks, will come into effect from August 1.

Petrol price dip
Super 98 petrol will now cost Dh2.69 per litre, dropping by 1 fils from July. Similarly, Special 95 is priced at Dh2.57 per litre, and E-Plus 91 at Dh2.50 – each down by 1 fils. Despite the slight adjustments, fuel prices have remained largely steady, providing a sense of consistency for motorists.
Diesel sees rise
In contrast, diesel has risen sharply by 15 fils, now standing at Dh2.78 per litre. The rise marks the largest single-month increase for diesel in recent months. This variation may influence certain transport and commercial operations more heavily than regular motorists.
Among lowest globally
Since deregulating fuel prices in 2015, the UAE continues to link rates with global oil trends. The nation still ranks among the top 25 countries offering the lowest petrol prices worldwide, with an average cost of Dh2.58 per litre – well below the global average.
